Overview
As a Lead Advanced Manufacturing Engineer at Honeywell, you will serve as a technical leader responsible for driving key manufacturing processes within aerospace component production. This role plays a critical part in ensuring product quality, performance, and operational efficiency, with a strong focus on advanced turbine engine coating technologies. This is a hands‑on, individual‑contributor role with significant technical ownership and influence—providing leadership and guidance to engineering teams without direct people‑management responsibilities.
Responsibilities- Own and lead end‑to‑end advanced manufacturing processes, with focus on:
- Process development, parameters, and optimization
- Tooling design and qualification
- Maintenance and inspection criteria
- Customer approvals and compliance
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process stability, product quality, and operational efficiency
- Analyze production data and performance metrics to identify improvement opportunities and implement corrective actions
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and cross‑functional teams
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and quality teams to support production goals
- Ensure compliance with aerospace quality standards, safety regulations, and industry requirements
- Support integration and advancement of manufacturing technologies (e.g., automation, advanced processing methods)
- Aerospace special process manufacturing
- Thermal barrier coatings, including ceramic or aluminizing technologies
- Preferred specialization in EBPVD (Electron Beam Physical Vapor Deposition)
- Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field or 10+ years of EBPVD Thermal Coating Engineering experience.
- Proven experience in advanced manufacturing and process optimization within aerospace or highly regulated industries
- Strong expertise in thermal coating technologies (ceramic and aluminizing)
- Experience in data analysis and process control (e.g., statistical process control)
- Demonstrated ability to operate in a technical leadership capacity
- Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and decision‑making skills
- Preferred Qualifications
- Direct hands‑on experience with EBPVD coating processes
- Experience in highly regulated aerospace manufacturing environments
- Master’s degree in Engineering or related field
- Knowledge of advanced manufacturing technologies (automation, robotics)
- Strong project management and continuous improvement experience
- Six Sigma Black Belt
- Part of a technical leadership group alongside Principal and Lead Engineers
- Reports into a manager overseeing a team of ~22 engineers
- Provides technical direction and mentorship to junior engineers while maintaining IC responsibilities
- Collaborative, engineering‑driven environment focused on advanced aerospace manufacturing
