Mechanical Design Engineer in Greer

Job Description

This position is for a Mechanical Design Engineer in the AGC/AGV Department of Creform. Creform specializes in providing customers with turnkey solutions for automation of material movement across a warehouse or factory. The engineer in this position will concept, design, develop instructions for build and installation for mechanical designs that are custom to our ever‑changing customer base. The applicant will report directly to the Engineering Manager of the department.

• Meet with customers to develop and refine solutions on specific needs and problems
• Work collaboratively with Engineering team
• 3D modeling design and create fabrication/build packages for assembly
• Create a bill of materials
• Request quotes from vendors/suppliers
• Submit requisitions for purchased material
• Quality check fabricated components for accuracy
• Ensure production of assemblies is correct
• Support with actual assembly of products
• Support installation of assemblies when needed at customer sites
• Provide on‑site customer support

• Valid driver’s license with clean record for Company Insurance purposes
• Must be willing to travel up to 30% of the time to customer sites with occasional need for weekly stays to complete necessary work
• Must be able to work with hand tools and power tools
• Must be able to move up and down stairs at customer facilities when needed
• Proficient in Solidworks 3D design software
• Must be able to manage a project from concept to completion and on occasion multiple projects at once
• Auto‑CAD experience

• Organized and able to prioritize several projects at once in different stages of development
• Bring a customer‑first mentality
• Self‑motivated and be able to work with little or no supervision
• Innovative thinking with strong problem‑solving/troubleshooting skills
• Be able to communicate to several different departments during a project for its success

• Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent training/education
• 4‑5 years of Mechanical design experience

Monday through Friday 8am – 5pm, with 1 hr lunch break. Occasional overtime will be necessary based on project demands.

Weekends and holidays may be required depending on the needs of the business.

Travel is required (varies depending on projects, average 10‑30% travel).

This is a non‑exempt position with weekly pay periods every Thursday.

CREFORM pipe and joint material handling system. Common structures include flow racks, workstations, stands, display boards, carts, and AGVs. Structures are quickly customer designed and assembled. Commonly used as a tool to support LEAN Manufacturing, Kaizen‑C.I., and 5‑S programs since Creform structures may be easily reconfigured and recycled to meet changing needs. More than 700 components and 30 years of experience.

Corporate office in Greer, SC, offices in Georgetown, KY, and Novi, MI. Also, technicians can work inside of auto manufacturing facilities, such as Toyota & BMW.
