- Promote and drive a strong safety culture within the organization.
- Lead and manage the Manufacturing Assembly Engineering team.
- Develop and enhance individual and team competencies.
- Support all project-related activities within the area of responsibility, including AVP, OPTIMAP, and OPTIPRO.
- Ensure adherence to internal procedures, standards, and best practices, including POMS, OPTIMAP, OPTIPRO, KEOPS, HSE pillars, and the 6 Non-Negotiables.
- Coordinate operational support for complex, critical, or new technical challenges.
- Ensure 100% machine validation prior to transfer, including plant sign-off for safety, ergonomics, cycle time, operator requirements, and quality standards.
- Manage assembly equipment investments and CNQ expenditures within ERP objectives.
- Ensure manufacturing readiness aligns with division goals and project timelines.
- Lead continuous benchmarking efforts to identify and implement improved assembly technologies, methodologies, suppliers, and industry best practices.
- Identify and propose cost-saving opportunities related to development and validation (D&D) activities and capital investments.
1. Health, Safety, Quality & CSR
- Apply and promote all Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policies and procedures.
- Foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
- Champion safety culture within the team and across the organization.
- Recruit, onboard, train, and mentor new employees.
- Develop individual and team capabilities to meet project and operational requirements.
- Manage departmental budgets, including D&D activities, travel, training, and small capital expenditures.
- Provide technical and administrative leadership while escalating critical issues when necessary.
- Ensure projects receive appropriate resources and technical expertise.
- Forecast workload and proactively identify future resource needs.
- Drive benchmarking activities and technology scouting for assembly processes and equipment through the Know-How Team.
- Contribute to supplier development and supplier panel optimization.
Lead both personally and through the engineering team:
- Ensure compliance with PO standards, including POMS, TESIS, KEOPS, and Industrial Objectives.
- Conduct feasibility studies for new and ongoing projects.
- Manage the development of assembly processes, including:
- Equipment specifications
- Machine validation
- Final plant acceptance
- Recommend optimal assembly processes and technical parameters, including cycle time, OEE, and energy consumption.
- Define assembly engineering development-hour budgets for projects.
- Support the Manufacturing Project Manager (MPM) in all assembly-related activities.
- Capture and standardize lessons learned, best practices, and technical standards.
- Support Assembly Engineers (PPA) with equipment specifications and validation activities involving complex or innovative assembly technologies.
- Provide technical support for critical production issues or new assembly process challenges.
- Participate in continuous improvement and operational productivity workshops.
- Support plant operations to ensure stable and efficient manufacturing performance.
- Share technical expertise and lessons learned with relevant specialists and stakeholders.
- Ensure consistent application of engineering standards and contribute to their ongoing development.
- Support the engineering network by disseminating technical knowledge and best practices across the organization.
- Promote collaboration and knowledge-sharing within the engineering community.
- Bachelor with experience or mechanical engineering/electrical or automation master’s degree
- Good understanding on HSE/ergonomics
- External: similar position at another tier 1 supplier in the automotive industry
- Internal: extensive professional experience (> 3 years), senior PPA,
- MPM, R&I project manager, plant assembly area manager
- Safety and ergonomic awareness
- Strong technical background in the field of assembly techniques and industrial plants
