Job Responsibilities

- You will perform, direct, and coordinate a variety of routine and complex duties for the Division of Professional and Occupational Licensing (POL).
- You will coordinate and schedule meetings, prepare meeting agendas, and take and disseminate meeting notes.
- You will gather and prepare the necessary documentation related to board travel requests and assist with travel needs and reimbursements.
- You were serve as the liaison for POL to internal and external stakeholders and respond to requests from the public.
- You will plan, manage, and direct the procurement and contracting for goods and services for POL, including creating and completing shopping cart requests.
- You will monitor and review compliance with annual budgets for POL boards and advise on the availability of funds for all funding requests.
- You will serve as the human resources liaison and time and leave administrator for POL and assist with the coordination and registration of training and travel.
- You will perform a variety of other duties including assisting with running and preparing reports, reviewing documents, drafting correspondence, maintaining and updating manuals, providing updated information for board websites, and records retention.
Minimum Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree and experience in public administration, business administration, planning or public relations.
- A combination of education, relevant training, and experience may be considered as a substitute for the bachelor’s degree, upon approval by Human Resources.
- Knowledge of governmental, fiscal and personnel procedures, practices and policies.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to exercise judgment and discretion in interpreting and applying relevant laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to understand and follow complex instructions.
- Considerable skill in the use of office equipment, computers, and Microsoft products.
- Ability to effectively plan and organize work activities and prioritize task completion.
- Ability to deal courteously and effectively with the public.
- Ability to exercise a high degree of confidentiality.
- Position works in an office environment with extended periods of sitting and standing.
- Occasional work outside of normal office hours.
- May be required to lift, carry, move and/or position objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Daily filing, data entry, telephone and computer use.
