Job Responsibilities
- Follow established objectives with minimal supervision.
- Provide first‑level help desk services for SCDC mainframe systems, PC networks, and telecommunications.
- Central point of contact for password resets, user IDs, access issues, and related technical support inquiries.
- Coordinate IT and telecommunications hardware exchanges, repairs, and support services for equipment such as printers, card scanners, telephones, cell phones, digital cameras, and related devices.
- Conduct preliminary evaluations of IT equipment.
- Provide technical support to end users to ensure proper use of data phones, VPN access, Duo tokens, and related technologies.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of evolving technology systems and applications to troubleshoot issues and provide user support.
- Support video‑conferencing equipment, multi‑function printers/copiers, and emerging technologies.
- Serve as a backup to other help desk staff and participate in cross‑training so all team members can assist with all duties.
- Assist with documenting help desk procedures and ensuring the help desk guide reflects current processes.
- Assist in maintaining proper IT equipment and telecommunications inventories.
- Perform minor equipment repairs when possible, and determine the need for replacement parts or escalation to authorized vendors for advanced repair services.
- A high school diploma and experience in office automation systems, data communications system design, installation, operation, repair, or processing of information in a data processing environment or related systems.
- An associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field may be substituted for the required work experience.
- Associate degree and at least two (2) years’ experience with automated systems, microcomputers, minicomputers, data communication hardware/software.
- A high school diploma and at least four (4) years’ experience with automated systems, microcomputers, minicomputers, data communication hardware/software.
- One (1) year of help desk experience is preferred.
