About The Role
Senior Director serves as a leader within Gartner’s Business and Technology Insights (BTI) group, establishing oneself as a credible voice within their designated market at local, regional and global levels. Utilizing exceptional research and analytical skills, the Senior Director plays a significant role in producing pragmatic and provocative insights which Gartner clients consume and apply to propel their business toward key objectives.
They are a trusted source of advice for clients, reinforcing Gartner’s value every day by engaging them via in-person meetings, virtual meetings, sales support visits and Gartner conferences to discuss complex client challenges and offer appropriate recommendations.
- Develop thought‑leading advice on the emergence, adoption, and disruptions that AI data security and AI ecosystem data management bring to bear on the AI security market.
- Work with Gartner clients and reflect research in meeting conversations, and serve as a speaker either face‑to‑face or via video conference.
- Grow the ETT team’s network of thought leaders, including academics, investors, startups, and vendors, to support interviews and case‑based research.
- Provide tailored inquiries and briefings for Gartner clients on Emerging Technologies in the Security Markets, specifically AI data security and AI ecosystem data management.
- Ensure the integrity of research and analysis of the team.
- Bachelor’s degree; graduate degree preferred or equivalent experience in cybersecurity with specific relevance to AI data security and AI ecosystem data management.
- Minimum 12 years of relevant experience.
- Subject Matter Expertise: familiarity with the AI data security and AI ecosystem data management market, typical service offerings, best practices, commonly used technologies, and vendors for client engagements and research.
- Knowledge of cloud and on‑premises data visibility, classification, monitoring, and protection.
- Knowledge of data management for AI model training, management, learning, and governance.
- Knowledge of data security for data at rest, in‑flight, and in‑use – encryption, tokenization.
- Knowledge of AI security platform architecture as it relates to data management.
- Experience with tools and data sources such as Pitchbook, CapIQ, Tech Crunch, Bloomberg, and other forecast/financial data.
- Executive presence; ability to immediately establish credibility with executives and stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills; ability to work under tight deadlines and produce high‑quality deliverables.
- Excellence in research, writing, analytical, and presentation skills; ability to engage clients and respond effectively to questions.
- Proficiency in analyzing and synthesizing data; ability to apply patterns and frameworks while drawing and defending conclusions to client challenges.
- Strong communication skills – ability to explain complex concepts concisely and simply.
- Comfortable presenting at large and small‑scale speaking engagements.
- Strong business and financial acumen.
- Deep knowledge of the global and competitive landscape within the subject area and its interplay in the market.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams, supporting the workflow of others within a multicultural global team.
- Learning agility and adeptness at navigating highly matrixed environments.
- Ability to represent Gartner’s research methodology and strategies effectively at all levels.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% (where applicable).
The reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 172,000 USD - 202,500 USD. Actual salaries may vary within the range or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees may participate in an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role‑based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
