Responsibilities
- Manages the centralized medical supply warehouse, including receiving, storage, inventory control, and distribution of medical supplies and equipment.
- Utilizes computerized inventory systems to monitor stock levels, track usage, and maintain efficient supply distribution.
- Initiates and processes requisitions for medical supplies and equipment to maintain appropriate inventory levels.
- Administers the competitive bid process for equipment purchases up to $10,000 and coordinates routine, drop shipment, and emergency supply orders.
- Maintains professional relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure cost-effective purchasing and timely product availability.
- Monitors changes in medical supplies and equipment to support current operational needs.
- Reviews and approves invoices for medical supplies and equipment and coordinates with accounts payable to ensure accurate documentation and timely payment processing.
- Prepares monthly statistical and fiscal reports to monitor expenditure and ensure compliance with budget allocations.
- Coordinates with fiscal staff regarding fund availability and funding requests.
- Conducts periodic and annual audits of medical supplies and equipment at institutional locations and prepares audit reports for administrative and finance divisions.
- Assists with maintaining fixed asset inventory records.
- Provides guidance and assistance to medical services staff regarding supply availability, procurement procedures, and equipment needs to support daily operations.
- Supervises inmate workers assigned to assist with warehouse operations, including supply distribution, storage organization, and sanitation, ensuring compliance with safety and security procedures.
A high school diploma and work experience directly related to the area of employment.
- A high school diploma and relevant work experience in business management, public administration or administrative services.
