SUMMARYThe Chief Operating Officer (COO) directly oversees all operational, product, support, and training functions across North American Rescue. This role unifies the responsibilities of the VP Product and Support Operations and the Vice President of Operations, ensuring strategic alignment, operational efficiency, and cross‑functional leadership. The COO is additionally responsible for operational leadership and performance across three (3) company sites.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIESThis is not an all‑inclusive list of duties and responsibilities. Projects/duties may be modified/changed/added/deleted as needed.
- Translate corporate strategy into annual and quarterly operating plans with clear priorities, owners, milestones, and success metrics.
- Institutionalize a management cadence with one set of numbers, weekly/monthly operating reviews, and disciplined action follow‑through.
- Build and maintain a scalable operating system (org structure, decision rights, handoffs, workflows) that keeps execution repeatable.
- Drive operational excellence and cost discipline by improving throughput, quality, cycle time, and reliability while reducing waste and rework.
- Standardize, simplify, and automate core processes using Lean/Six Sigma thinking to eliminate friction end‑to‑end.
- Lead multisite operations across three facilities with consistent standards, capacity planning, resource allocation, and escalation routines.
- Anticipate and remove bottlenecks as volume, mix, complexity, and headcount increase; balance in‑house vs. external capabilities as needed.
- Align Sales/Marketing commitments with Production/Service delivery to meet leadtime, configuration, and quality expectations.
- Ensure financial and commercial targets are operationally achievable; manage unit economics, margins, working capital, and ROI trade‑offs.
- Elevate customer experience by improving on‑time delivery, response times, service consistency, and first‑timer‑right quality; fix root causes.
- Strengthen risk management and compliance by reducing operational, safety, regulatory, vendor, and supply risks; run audits and CAPAs.
- Develop leaders and bench strength by coaching managers, clarifying roles and decision rights, and driving rigorous performance management.
- Operate the internal cadence so the CEO can focus on vision, market, capital, and partnerships; provide clear operating readouts.
- Lead M&A operational diligence and post‑close integration, fully embedding new companies into the operating system, metrics, and culture.
- Model a no‑excuses, high‑ownership mindset by identifying root causes and leading the organization in resolving issues without deferring responsibility.
- Oversee all operational personnel and operational support functions across facilities.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
- Manage operational financial elements within budget parameters.
- Ensure educational and operational compliance company‑wide.
- Completes any other duties and/or projects assigned by the supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
- 10 plus years of operational leadership experience within manufacturing or distribution.
- Proven ability to lead high‑performing teams.
- ERP experience required;
Net Suite preferred. - Multi‑site operational leadership experience strongly required.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
- This role is based in Greer, SC, with daily on‑site work at the headquarters facility.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
- Demonstrated capability in operational excellence and disciplined cost management.
- Experience in military or public service high‑intensity operational environments.
- Must be able to work a minimum of 40 hours each.
- Must have transportation to and from headquarters.
- Frequently required to hear and talk.
- Use of hands for keyboard usage.
- Frequent sitting, standing, and walking.
- Occasional reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, and lifting, and/or moving up to 50lbs.
- Must be able to work in a moderately loud work environment.
