Position: Pipefitter Foreman (MGR)

Job Description

Green Wood, Inc. is now actively recruiting applicants for our Pipefitter Foreman position. We are looking for applicants who are interested in a Regular Full‑Time, Non‑Exempt position at the Mitsubishi site in Greer, SC. Employees normally work Monday through Thursday, 7:00 am–5:30 pm, 40 hours per week and occasional overtime as needed. We are currently looking for an applicant who is interested in a position without the need to travel.

Green Wood does not offer per diem at this job site.

The Pipefitter Foreman is responsible for leading, directing, planning, and managing operations with overall accountability for production, maintenance, quality, and the efficient and effective daily operations of the preparation, assembling, and repairs of all pipe systems of various shapes, sizes, and pressures to ensure delivery of a work product that meets or exceeds the customer’s expectations.

Position Responsibilities - Essential
  • Directs and manages daily operations for the preparation, assembling, and repairs of all pipe systems of various shapes, sizes, and pressures.
  • Coordinates site activities through planning to ensure the total manufacturing/production objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost‑effective manner.
  • Establishes and monitors employee performance for production and quality.
  • Maintains existing site facilities and equipment; replaces or makes adjustments to site facilities and equipment when necessary.
  • Confers with upper management to establish production and/or quality standards, develop controls, and obtain required data from all key operational activities.
  • Provides direction, development, and leadership to employees.
  • Provides leadership for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements, improve working relationships, and exceed customers’ expectations.
  • Implements company policies and procedures.
  • Ensures compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
  • Monitors and measures team performance to company goals and objectives through use of established metrics.
  • Provides leadership and direction for employees through effective communications, mentoring, coaching, training, and development.
  • Resolves employee issues through problem resolution techniques.
  • Assembles, inspects, tests, and repairs pipe systems used to control plant operations.
  • Ensures proper placement and alignment according to blueprints, specifications, diagrams, schematics, or instructions.
  • Performs inspections of completed pipe system and components to determine structural and operational soundness and to detect abnormal fluctuations.
  • Tests performed to locate defective components in systems, using test equipment, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
  • Conducts tests on new components, assemblies, and systems based on test criteria as established by the policies and procedures and/or written test plans.
  • Ensures all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed before, during, and after the process to foster a positive safety culture by having a safety‑first mindset and approach during execution of activities.
  • Based on the nature of the essential functions associated with this role, Green Wood has designated this as a “safety‑sensitive” position.
Position Responsibilities - Non‑Essential/Other
  • Plans and conducts meetings with subordinates to ensure compliance with established practices, to implement new policies, and keep employees abreast of current changes and standards.
  • Initiates various personnel actions including, but not limited to, hiring, performance appraisals, promotions, transfers and vacation schedules, and trains new employees.
  • Other duties as assigned.
