Safety Shoe Reimbursement (Annual Basis)

The following job description is for BLG Team Members. The operation consists of various areas. Each operating area has similar essential duties and responsibilities, which are outlined in the next paragraph. Team Members will not necessarily have all of the duties and responsibilities on their first day; however, it is BLG Logistics, Inc.’s goal to cross-train Team Members in as many areas of the Operation as possible.

• Follow general company policies as outlined in the employee handbook.
• Operate within work instructions.
• Loading and unloading of trucks, order picking, repacking, packing, sequencing, labeling, shipping, and receiving.
• Perform preventive maintenance (TPM) on shipping totes, racks, etc.
• Maintain delivery vehicles/equipment (e.g., checking fluid levels, fueling, cleaning, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring safe operation.
• Communicate with operators from other shifts.
• Cleans operating facility for the purpose of maintaining a safe and sanitary work area (5S).
• Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use.
• Move waste from work areas to dumpsters.
• Drive vehicles (e.g., truck, van, forklift, etc.) for transporting orders and materials to designated areas.
• Responsible for quality control; no damaged product is sent out or damaged material is accepted in.
• Package finished product for shipping (shrink wrapping, boxing, labeling).
• Stage finished product for loading.
• Loads and unloads delivery trucks for receiving stock and/or filling orders for transport; moves materials to warehouse storage.
• Participate in physical inventories for verifying stock and identifying losses.
• Respond to Team Leader and/or management for information and/or direction regarding the status of deliveries.
• Maintain documents, files, and records for documenting activities and providing materials and reliable resource information.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure an efficient and effective work environment.
• Mandatory overtime with or without advance notification.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

• Education and/or
  
  Experience:
  
  High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Skills and Knowledge:
  Adhere to safety practices; operate warehouse equipment; operate standard office equipment and software; prepare and maintain accurate records; basic math; understand written procedures; write routine documents; speak clearly; understand complex written and oral instructions; basic computer use; basic vehicle maintenance; safety practices and procedures.
• Reasoning Ability:
  Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions; deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
  Forklift operating license is preferred, on‑job training available.
• Physical Demands:
  Advanced (standing, walking, lifting up to 15 lbs regularly, up to 50 lbs occasionally, overhead work); vision requirements include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
• Work Environment:
  Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, vibration; moderate noise level.
