Position: CNC Lathe Machinist - Weekend Shift (32 Hours)

Tuffaloy Products is a leading manufacturer of resistance welding consumables. The resistance welding process is a cost-effective metal joining process used in automotive, industrial, and aerospace manufacturing. Tuffaloy is a privately held business that has been in operation for 85 years. Our Products are produced at our 50,000 sq/ft climate-controlled facility utilizing state-of-the-art CNC Lathes, mills, presses and cold formers. Tuffaloy has a family-oriented culture and flat organizational structure.

Tuffaloy is committed to continually challenging itself to maintain its market position and grow. We are looking for a self-driven, team player to join Tuffaloy's manufacturing team.

The Primary responsibilities of this position will be to program, set up and operate multi-spindle bar fed mill-turn CNC lathes to produce parts safely and within specification.

The selected candidate will be able to program with M & G codes, fully set up, and operate the CNC machines. Applicants for this position should have a solid work ethic and possess a can‑do attitude with an ability to teach and learn. This position reports to the Manufacturing Supervisor.

Successful candidates should be able to load existing program, write or edit M & G codes to successfully produce parts, set up CNC lathe to run required parts and dry run part in single block mode to ensure the program is correct. The successful candidate should be able to produce first article inspection part and document dimensions for ISO. Ensure parts meet specifications utilizing micrometers, calipers, gauges and other measurement instruments.

In addition to the above you will perform routine machine maintenance prior to each shift to ensure all oils, lubricants and coolant tanks are full, run warm up programs to warm up the machine when/where required, and report any machine issues to maintenance for repair.

Requirements

Ability to program with M & G codes, fully set up, and operate the CNC machines.

Ability to produce first article inspection part and document dimensions for ISO.

Ability to use micrometers, calipers, gauges and other measurement instruments to ensure parts meets specifications.

This position requires strong shop math skills, good problem-solving skills, the ability for function independently, the ability to lift 50 lbs.
