The Quality Specialist is responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving manufacturing processes and documentation to support safe, efficient, and high-quality production operations. This role works closely with Engineering, Production, and Quality to ensure accurate documentation, effective implementation of engineering changes, and strong alignment between design intent and shop-floor execution. The Quality Specialist plays a key role in supporting ISO 9001 requirements, strengthening process control, and driving continuous improvement across assembly operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support the creation and maintenance of process documentation and clear work instructions, ensuring accuracy, revision control, and compliance with ISO 9001 requirements
  • Facilitate the creation of visual aids for manufacturing for the proper assembly process based on engineering designs and drawings as a supplement to the work instructions
  • Serve as primary support with problem and root cause identification between Engineering and Production for assembly-related questions and issues
  • Schedule and conduct layered process audits to verify adherence to standard work and defined quality requirements
  • Support the Integrated Management System, including audit readiness, documentation control, and corrective action follow-up
  • Drive process-focused continuous improvement initiatives across the organization (standard work, flow, quality) to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve product quality
  • Manage implementation of engineering changes to ensure controlled and efficient release to the shop floor (APQP management)
  • Support new product introduction by developing efficient, repeatable, and compliant manufacturing processes.

Position Requirements (knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform satisfactorily in the position):

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, assembly operations, and production workflows
  • Ability to build and conduct a layered process audit structure
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and bills of material (BOMs)
  • Experience developing work instructions, process documentation, and standard work
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills
  • Ability to take PDF and CAD engineering drawings and turn them into assembly drawings as an aid to the work instructions
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally between Engineering and Production
  • High attention to detail with a focus on documentation accuracy and process control
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • High School diploma or GED is required (associate or bachelor’s degree in a technical field preferred)
  • 2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing, engineering support, or process-focused role
  • Experience supporting production operations or assembly environments preferred
  • Exposure to engineering change processes and documentation control systems preferred
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, 5S, standard work) preferred
  • Basic CAD experience or ability to interpret and support drawings preferred
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
