Join a stable, growth-oriented manufacturer in Charleston. This is a permanent opportunity to take ownership of production planning activities, working closely with operations, supply chain, and purchasing to keep the plant running smoothly and predictably.
About the Role:You will be responsible for developing and maintaining detailed production plans that align demand, capacity, and material availability to meet customer requirements. Working within an ERP environment, you will translate forecasts and orders into executable schedules, ensuring optimal use of resources while minimizing inventory risk. Your work will have a direct impact on lead times, service levels, and overall plant performance.
Key Responsibilities:- Create and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on demand forecasts, customer orders, and capacity constraints
- Run and interpret MRP outputs to generate timely work orders and purchase requirements for materials
- Analyze production capacity and resource availability to balance workloads and adjust schedules as needed
- Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods to support production while avoiding stockouts and excess
- Coordinate closely with procurement, operations, and logistics to align material arrivals, production runs, and shipment plans
- Update and manage planning data within the ERP system, ensuring accurate routings, lead times, and master data
- Track schedule adherence, identify bottlenecks or variances, and recommend corrective actions to improve performance
- Communicate plan changes and priorities clearly to production supervisors and cross-functional stakeholders
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field
- Formal training in ERP/MRP systems or production planning tools (preferably SAP)
