Job Description
MRMC Anesthesia is seeking a Nurse Anesthesia Clinical Assistant Professor. This position works closely with the Florence campus faculty to coordinate and ensure that students in the Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice Program (DNAP) receive the clinical education and experience required for certification and licensure.
LocationMcLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence Campus
Work ScheduleFull-time (40 hours/week, 8-hour shifts)
Responsibilities- Coordinate clinical activities for all students on the Florence campus.
- Maintain and review all student clinical evaluations (daily, rotational, site).
- Coordinate student daily and rotational assignments to ensure appropriate cases for their program level.
- Provide summative evaluations to the Program and Assistant Program Directors each semester.
- Counsel students on clinical performance.
- Create and monitor all student clinical schedules (daily, monthly, yearly) ensuring all program requirements are met.
- Manage and supervise all simulations in coordination with the Assistant Program Director according to the DNAP curriculum.
- Assist in providing instruction to students via didactic and clinical areas.
- Co‑direct clinical courses in coordination with Columbia campus.
- Work with Program Directors to ensure program compliance with Standards and Guidelines of Nurse Anesthesia Programs.
- Coordinate clinical activities and student issues with various site clinical coordinators.
- Participate in recruiting, interviewing, and selection processes for candidates of the University of South Carolina School of Medicine Graduate Program in Nurse Anesthesia.
- Assist in assessment and improvement of the department’s performance by monitoring data, analyzing data, and implementing improvement plans.
- Other activities as indicated by the Program Directors related to clinical coordination and management of student registered nurse anesthetists.
- Valid APRN‑CRNA license and graduation from an accredited Nurse Anesthesia program.
- Doctoral degree preferred or willingness to obtain.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical anesthesia experience.
- Ability to manage student clinical education and work in a collaborative academic and clinical environment.
- Strong clinical background and passion for educating next generation of Nurse Anesthetists.
- Excellent communication, detail‑oriented, and ability to provide mentorship and guidance.
