Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, this position serves as the Nurse Supervisor for their assigned shift, provides daily nursing care, training, activities, and treatment to the people who live at the Regional Centers in accordance with all licensing and certification requirements, the South Carolina Nursing Practice Act, and South Carolina Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (BHDD), Office of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (OIDD).

Details

We are filling two (2) Nurse Supervisor positions, one for the 2nd shift (2:45 pm – 11:15 pm) and one for the 3rd shift (10:45 pm – 7:15 am). Both positions are located at Saleeby Regional Center in Hartsville, SC.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise and mentor nursing staff on assigned shift so that the mission, goals, philosophy, and functions of the nursing department are supported and can be achieved. Provide direct oversight to Registered Nurses (RN) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) in their assigned area and shift. Evaluate subordinate nursing staff and serve as a reviewer for evaluation. In consultation with Human Resources, follow proper procedures for conducting disciplinary action as needed.
  • Ensure nursing schedule and coverage is maintained at all times to meet target staffing levels. Conduct interviews and make recommendations for nursing vacancies. Ensure all time and/or leave is approved timely for subordinate nursing staff.
  • As a member of the nursing administration team, provide active leadership in ensuring compliance with Federal and State regulations, agency and office policies and procedures, and accepted nursing standards of care and practice.
  • Stay abreast of new nursing trends and/or research with possible application toward improving the health care of individuals. Provide for and participate in educational enrichment programs so that personnel stay up to date with new concepts and approaches.
  • Perform and participate in activities used to build morale as otherwise assigned by Director of Nursing.
Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and related nursing experience. Licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in South Carolina.
  • Knowledge of the principles, practices, theories and techniques of nursing. Knowledge of teaching methods applicable to nursing.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of nursing administration in a healthcare facility. Knowledge of certification requirements and standards for healthcare facilities. Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to plan, organize, supervise, direct and evaluate the work of other employees. Ability to establish and maintain the confidence and cooperation of individuals and families.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions of a technical and professional nature. Ability to develop and implement therapeutic nursing programs.
  • General knowledge of individuals with intellectual disabilities. Ability to work in a group home‑like setting or ICF.
  • Physical ability to work with individuals who may be physically aggressive or medically fragile.
Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $85,000 to $93,823
, based on verified work‑related nursing experience. This position is eligible for up to $6.25 per hour shift differential for applicable shifts.
