The Warranty Technician will be responsible for inspecting, testing, and analyzing returned products to determine failure modes and assist in resolving warranty claims. This role plays a key part in supporting continuous improvement initiatives and ensuring product reliability for our customers.
Key Responsibilities:- Receive, inspect, and document returned warranty parts.
- Perform failure analysis through testing, disassembly, and visual inspection.
- Identify root causes of product failures and provide detailed reports to engineering and quality teams.
- Maintain accurate records of warranty claims, findings, and corrective actions.
- Work with cross-functional teams to support corrective and preventive actions to reduce warranty issues.
- Assist in tracking warranty trends and providing feedback for product improvements.
- Ensure compliance with customer warranty policies and industry standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace while following safety guidelines.
- High school diploma or equivalent;
technical certification or associate degree in automotive technology, manufacturing, or a related field preferred. - 2+ years of experience in warranty analysis, product testing, or quality inspection in an automotive manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to disassemble and inspect components.
- Familiarity with root cause analysis tools (5
Why, 8D, Ishikawa diagrams). - Basic understanding of automotive quality standards (IATF 16949, ISO 9001) is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications
. - Proficiency in using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.) and diagnostic equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately document findings.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
