We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Engineer to support plant operations in developing, maintaining, and improving quality standards. This role partners closely with internal teams and customers to drive continuous improvement initiatives, ensure product quality, and resolve issues effectively.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and coordinate all Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities, including part approvals and supporting documentation
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for customer concerns and quality issues
- Collaborate directly with customers to resolve issues and support ongoing improvement efforts
- Train and guide plant personnel on quality systems, tools, and best practices
- Oversee and maintain Statistical Process Control (SPC) systems for assigned products
- Partner with quality technicians and analysts to execute and evaluate process audits
- Support a culture of continuous improvement across manufacturing operations
- Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and safety requirements
- Travel as needed to customer locations, suppliers, and other manufacturing sites
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across all organizational levels
- Solid technical aptitude and hands‑on problem‑solving capabilities
- Experience with quality tools and methodologies (e.g., root cause analysis, SPC)
- Proficiency with standard computer applications and data analysis tools
- Familiarity with quality systems such as QS-9000 and/or IATF 16949
- ASQ Certification (e.g., CQE) or internal auditor experience is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field
- OR
- Associate degree with 2–5 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and operations
- Ability to interpret technical documents and specifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentations to diverse audiences
- Working knowledge of basic mathematics, algebra, and geometry
- Ability to analyze data and apply logical problem‑solving techniques
- Combination of office, manufacturing floor, and customer sites
- Exposure to typical production machinery and environments
- Moderate noise levels on the plant floor (hearing protection required in designated areas)
- Role requires standing, walking, and frequent use of hands and arms
