As an Assistant Store Manager, you will partner with the Store Manager to develop outstanding associates, deliver exceptional customer experiences, and positively impact growth.

Responsibilities
  • Attract, hire, develop, inspire, and retain top talent.
  • Set and reinforce clear performance expectations, results goals, and accountability with all associates.
  • Act as manager on duty when scheduled to address customer experience, vendor relationship, or maintenance issues.
  • Partner with sales leadership to support action plans that improve results and ensure effective execution of operational activities.
  • Implement and sustain floorset direction to optimize the business and bring the product story to life.
  • Perform opening and closing routines including bank deposits, receipt of shipment, and interpretation of company directives.
  • Set direction and goals for the day/shift when associates arrive for work.
  • Provide individual and team performance feedback and recommendations to managers.
  • Meet payroll targets by ensuring appropriate sales floor coverage and maintaining a selling focus.
  • Lead exceptional in‑store customer experiences with selling behaviors rooted in Our Values and elevated product knowledge.
  • Create genuine connections with customers through uncovering needs, sharing product information, demoing products, and making personalized recommendations.
  • Train, coach, reward, and motivate associates to improve selling and the customer experience.
  • Reinforce selling expectations, performance, results, and accountability with all associates.
  • Maintain physical activity requirements: lift 10–50 pounds, climb ladders, bend, kneel, etc.
  • Provide a safe, clean, and engaging experience by adhering to all safety standards and expectations.
  • Maintain our values, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience delivering sales, customer experience, and operational results in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Prior experience in a managerial role, preferably in retail.
  • Ability to foster a customer‑focused selling culture.
  • Effective communication skills, openness to feedback, and adaptability.
  • Ability to provide in‑the‑moment coaching to associates.
  • Ability to de‑escalate store and customer situations effectively.
  • Must be available to work peak days and times, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Education
  • High school diploma, GED certificate, or relevant work experience.
