Seafood Clerk

Job Overview

This full‑time position involves processing, packaging, and stocking seafood products according to seafood standards, cleaning work areas, providing customer service during unloading and reloading stock, and performing meat clerk duties as assigned.

Personal

Skills:

Exceptional interpersonal skills; willingness to participate in required training and teamwork to increase customer satisfaction and sales.

Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language

Skills:

Ability to read, comprehend, and write simple instructions and correspondence in English; ability to present information one‑on‑one and in small groups to customers, vendors, and co‑workers.

Mathematical

Skills:

Ability to add and subtract two‑digit numbers and perform operations using U.S. monetary and weight units.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense to carry out written or oral instructions and to solve concrete problems in standardized situations.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Completion of company training, including new hire orientation, food sanitation, customer service, safety, food safety, and product knowledge.

Physical Demands: Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear. Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds (reach 6–72 inches) and frequently lift or move up to 100 pounds (reach 6–72 inches). Must have close vision, color, and depth perception.

Work Environment: Cool environment (average 34–36°F) with wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and extreme cold. Noise level moderate to loud.

Age Requirement: Associates must be at least 18 years of age.
