Who We AreThe Carolina Center for Behavioral Health is a 156-bed private behavioral health system located on 13 acres in the Greenville, South Carolina Area. Specializing in psychiatric programs and substance abuse treatments such as detox and rehab, The Carolina Center serves Greenville, Spartanburg, Anderson, and areas throughout South Carolina and western North Carolina. Programs are available at various levels of care to accommodate the severity of every patient's condition: inpatient, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient treatment.

Job Duties
The Director of Business Development oversees the provision of Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service activities within the Marketing Department. The Director of Business Development is responsible for achieving the desired utilization of the organization's continuum of care through the effective application of marketing principles and methods. As a member of the facility management team, the Director of Business Development is actively involved in discussions related to a wide variety of facility issues including strategic planning, potential growth opportunities, future projects, changing in programming/protocols, recruitment, and retention.
The Director of Business Development is responsible for the facility's strategic marketing plan, enhancing the facility's brand/image, management of all sales and business development activities and maintaining an active and productive working relationship with internal departments and communicates issues or potential problems proactively, especially with CEO and Director of Admissions/Intake. Hours are based on departmental, and facility needs and may include day, evening, and weekend hours, as directed by the CEO/Managing Director.
JOB FUNCTIONS
- Oversee the development and growth of profitable new business opportunities. Develop and implement marketing strategies to assist the facility in meeting business objectives.
- Serves as the liaison, under the direction of the CEO and CFO, between the facility and payer entities and in a manner consistent with corporate expectations.
- Make contacts with referral sources and establishes appropriate professional relationships with potential and current referral sources. The Director of Business Development is expected to maintain a personal "book of business" and make face-to-face field-based contacts weekly, exclusive of field coaching ride-a-longs.
- Strategically analyzes and designates target markets for account managers and territory/account assignments, considering the strengths and weaknesses of each account manager. Ensure that expertise and personal style of team members are insightfully matched to prospective referral sources.
- Maintains a general working knowledge of the target markets utilized for referrals, as well as comprehensive knowledge of the status of specific target markets.

Education: Bachelor's degree in marketing, business or related field required. Master's Degree preferred
