Pipefitter Helper; MGR

Overview

Green Wood, Inc. is actively recruiting for a Pipefitter Helper position. This is a Regular Full-Time, Non-Exempt role at the Mitsubishi site in Greer, SC. Employees work Monday through Thursday, 7:00am-5:30pm, 40 hours per week with occasional overtime as needed. The position does not require travel and Green Wood does not offer per diem at this job site.

• Assist with assembling and repairing pipe systems
• Assist with the proper placement and alignment of pipes and pipe systems according to blueprints, specifications, diagrams, schematics, or instructions
• Assist with inspecting completed pipes to determine structural and operational soundness
• Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job, and require direct supervision
• Use, maintain and possess required hand tools necessary to perform tasks assigned
• Ensure all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed before, during, and after the process to foster a positive safety culture with a safety-first mindset
• Based on the nature of the essential functions, this role is designated as a safety-sensitive position

• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Experience in pipe fitting industry
• Level 1 Helper – 0 to 6 months of experience
• Level 2 Helper – 6 months to 1 year of experience
• Level 3 Helper – 1 year to 1 ½ years of experience
• Level 4 Helper – 1 ½ years to 2 years of experience
• Level 5 Helper – 2 years to 2 ½ years of experience
• Level 6 Helper – 2 ½ years to 3 years of experience
• Level 7 Helper – 3+ years of experience
• Excellent attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to perform repetitive tasks with focus on quantity and quality
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrates a high level of customer service and strong communication (listening and speaking) and interpersonal skills
• Experience demonstrating a positive safety culture
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation

• Greater than one year experience in various forms of pipe fitting
• Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in the pipe fitting field
