Crane & Hoist Service Technician | Charleston, South Carolina
Field‑Based Technician Role | Charleston Area Coverage with Regional Travel
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rate up to $45/hr+ based on experience, skills, location, and credentials. Top‑performing technicians regularly earn substantially more through overtime, travel pay, premium site incentives, and specialized project work.
Field‑based service work. You will travel to customer sites, diagnose problems, perform repairs, and be accountable for getting equipment safely back into operation with minimal supervision.

- Travel to customer sites to perform inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs
- Service electric overhead cranes and hoists (mechanical and electrical systems)
- Troubleshoot and repair 480 VAC / 3‑phase electrical systems
- Perform work independently while adhering to all safety and quality standards
- Communicate clearly with customers, supervisors, and internal teams
- Represent ACECO professionally at all job sites
- Provide clear updates and recommendations based on equipment condition
- Complete accurate service reports and documentation
- Track work performed, findings, and follow‑up needs
- Maintain accountability for service quality and reporting accuracy
- Participate in on‑call rotation
- Travel locally, regionally, and/or nationally as required
- Support urgent customer needs when necessary
- High school diploma or GED required
- Technical or trade certifications preferred
- 3‑5+ years of hands‑on experience servicing electric overhead cranes and hoists preferred
- Strong field service experience in industrial environments
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills (480 VAC / 3‑phase systems)
- Solid mechanical troubleshooting and repair capability
- Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards, lockout/tagout, and fall protection
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong customer‑facing communication skills
- High attention to detail and follow‑through
- Reliable, accountable, and self‑directed
