Responsibilities
Performs maintenance and repair tasks in such areas as carpentry, locksmith, electricity, heating, venting and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, boiler operation and energy plant operation. Assists in maintaining and repairing equipment such as pumps, motors, compressors and appliances.
Makes emergency and general repairs and adjustments to equipment used in building and maintenance work. Conducts routine inspections to ensure employees follow proper operating, maintenance and safety procedures for routine jobs.
QualificationsA high school diploma or equivalent.
Trade experience in the installation, repair and maintenance of refrigeration, mechanical and boiler systems, plumbing, carpentry, and heating, venting, air conditioning (HVAC) equipment.
- EPA‑approved Freon recovery certification.
- Valid South Carolina driver’s license.
- Physical ability to bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, stand for long periods, climb and work from ladders, stairs, and scaffolding, lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in confined spaces; hot, hazardous, noisy locations; adverse weather conditions.
- Participation in the on‑call program and availability for after‑hours work as an on‑call technician.
