Job SummaryMOR PPM Inc. seeks Plant Mechanics in Georgetown, SC. The Plant Mechanics will install and/or maintain machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, drawings, and written instructions in industrial establishments.
Responsibilities- Reads blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures; dismantles machines; moves machinery and equipment.
- Assembling and installing machines then testing them to make sure they are working correctly.
- Must work in full compliance with the approved safety regulations.
- Managing the layout and placement of equipment and machinery in factory settings to ensure minimum downtime.
- Identifying and repairing problematic parts of a machine by running tests, making temporary repairs, or installing new parts.
- Dismantling older machines and replacing them with new ones.
- Overseeing preventive maintenance by identifying and correcting potential issues, removing worn out pieces and lubricating mechanical parts.
- Using machinery or equipment, such as forklifts, to move mechanical parts.
- Assembles and installs equipment, such as shafting, conveyors, pumps, compressors, extruders, turbines and blowers.
- Performs any other duties assigned by supervisor.
- Performs all work in a safe and efficient manner and keeps work area in a clean and orderly condition.
- Preferred 8 years experience in supporting maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical systems in an industrial plant.
- Forklift Certified
- Some welding knowledge
- Must be able to complete hiring paperwork electronically through Docu Sign
- May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Must posses enough strength and stamina to perform the technical duties and essential functions as identified above
- Must be able to move in and around confined spaces and uneven areas
- Must have full range of motion consistent with age
- Must be able to climb and maintain balance ladders
- Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees, alarms and other job-related noises
- Visual acuity, depth perception and color discrimination consistent with that required to work at heights and on uneven surfaces
- Safety/Steel toe shoes are required.
