Position Summary
The Tank Wash Technician cleans hazardous, non-hazardous, and food grade tanker trailers, performs on‑site remediation, de‑contaminates equipment, and handles hazardous materials, reporting directly to the Tank Wash Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities- Operate light and heavy equipment including pumps, compressors, boilers, bobcats, forklifts, and other industrial tools.
- Use hand tools and powered pressure washers while ensuring proper use of equipment and reporting mechanical failures.
- Maintain compliance with Health & Safety procedures, DOT, EPA waste codes, manifesting, and Land Disposal Restrictions (LDR).
- Wear and use Personal Protective Equipment as required.
- Assist in field sampling activities and meter calibration.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Minimum 18 years of age.
Must read, write, and speak English proficiently.
Qualifications- Experience with confined space entry (CSE) training.
- Experience with DOT regulations, EPA waste codes, manifesting, and LDR.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals.
- Completion of computer-based safety training program.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work with little supervision and adapt to change.
- Customer service orientation and timely meeting of needs and deadlines.
- Positive, proactive, and motivated attitude.
- Focus on continuous improvement in the workplace.
- Adaptability to a fast‑paced organization.
Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to feel; reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel or crouch as needed.
Lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
Climb ladders and stairs for cleaning duties.
Work extended periods (> 8 hrs).
Perform frequent draining into and carrying of buckets, connecting and disconnecting hoses, pressure washing, confined space entries, repetitive chain‑fall operation, parts removal and replacement on customer equipment, routine maintenance and emergency repairs, monitoring strengths of cleaning solutions.
Work EnvironmentWork in various temperatures indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold while wearing appropriate PPE.
Work with cleaning chemicals with elevated noise levels and confined spaces.
Work at elevations up to eight feet above ground and occasionally perform other facility work as directed.
