Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Electrician/ Electrician Installation, Installation Technician, Building Maintenance
Supervises and assists in the performance of maintenance and preventative maintenance of electrical fire alarms, CCTV, electronic security, PA, intercom and high voltage distribution systems, emergency generators and equipment.
Plans electrical work including repairs to high voltage equipment and systems.
Reads blueprints and wiring diagrams and makes take-offs.
Requisition s materials and parts needed.
Ensures completion of installation/repairs.
Makes emergency repairs to electrical systems and equipment.
Performs on-the-job training of inmates.
Requires cross-training in other areas of the maintenance field to include: HVAC, plumbing and general maintenance.
Must successfully complete four (4) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.
State of South CarolinaMinimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and experience in the construction or repair of secondary electrical systems. Relevant experience may be substituted for the required diploma on a year-for-year basis.
SCDCMinimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and experience in the construction or repair of secondary electrical systems.
Must be able to supervise, direct, instruct and work with other people.
