The Underground Electrician aims to repair and maintain associated surface fixed equipment and underground infrastructure equipment.

• Install, maintain, inspect, and repair underground electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, communication, and control systems
• Troubleshoot electrical faults on fixed plant and mobile mining equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections to minimize downtime and improve reliability
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings, and manuals
• Install and maintain substations, switch gear, transformers, VFDs, and motor control systems

• Safely work on low, medium, and high-voltage systems in accordance with site procedures and legislation
• Conduct lockout/tagout (LOTO), grounding, and testing procedures
• Identify electrical hazards and participate in risk assessments and job hazard analyses (JHAs)
• Accurately complete work orders, inspection reports, and maintenance records
• Respond to breakdowns and emergency repairs as required
• Follow all MSHA/OSHA regulations, site safety policies, and electrical codes
• Maintain astrong focus on personal safety, coworker safety, and equipmentprotection

• Work closely with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to support production goals
• Participate in safety meetings, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives

• On-the-job experience and vocational training
• Must adhere to the Oceana Gold Code of Conduct
• Minimum 10 years of experience as an electrician, preferably in underground mining or heavy industrial environments
• Strong knowledge of underground mining electrical systems and regulations
• Experience with medium-voltage systems, PLCs, VFDs, and mining mobile equipment preferred
• Ability to work in confined spaces and physically demanding underground conditions
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Electrical diagnostics and faultfinding
• Ability to work independently and as part of ateam
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Mechanical aptitude and attention todetail
• Commitment to safety, reliability, and continuous improvement

• CPR, AED, and Live Voltage Rescue ( 2 hours)
• Low Voltage Worker Training ( 8 hours)
• High Voltage Worker Training ( 8 hours) – required for electricians working on systems greater than 1 , 000 volts
• Low Voltage Induction ( 3 hours)
• High Voltage Induction ( 3 hours) – required for electricians working on systems greater than 1 , 000 volts
• NEC Awareness Online Training ( 10 hours)
• HGM Authorized Isolator Training
