Commercial Sheet Metal Mechanic

Miller HVAC Service, Inc. is a family-owned and operated commercial and industrial HVAC company serving the South Carolina Upstate. We are looking for an experienced
Commercial HVAC Sheet Metal Mechanic to join our installation team full-time.

This is a hands-on field position. The Sheet Metal Mechanic will work directly alongside our installation team performing sheet metal and HVAC installation work on commercial and industrial projects.

The Sheet Metal Mechanic will report directly to the Lead Installer and work under the Lead Installer's direction to complete projects safely, efficiently, and to Miller HVAC's standards for quality workmanship.

We're looking for someone with solid sheet metal experience who takes pride in their work, understands commercial duct installation, and can be counted on to complete assigned work correctly and efficiently.

As a Sheet Metal Mechanic, you will:

• Work hands-on with the installation crew on commercial and industrial HVAC projects
• Install commercial HVAC ductwork, fittings, and related components
• Lay out, measure, cut, fit, assemble, and install sheet metal ductwork
• Install hangers, supports, and associated ductwork hardware
• Install, insulate, seal, and finish duct systems
• Assist with setting and installing HVAC equipment and related components
• Take field measurements and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper fit and installation
• Use hand tools, power tools, lifts, and other equipment required for commercial HVAC installation
• Follow direction from the Lead Installer and communicate jobsite, material, or installation issues as they arise
• Work effectively alongside other installers and trades
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite
• Follow company and jobsite safety requirements
• Complete work to Miller HVAC's standards for quality and workmanship

Required:

• 3+ years of sheet metal installation experience
• Experience installing HVAC ductwork
• Commercial HVAC or commercial construction experience
• Ability to measure, lay out, cut, fit, and install sheet metal ductwork
• Proficiency with common sheet metal and HVAC installation tools
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Ability to safely work from ladders, lifts, rooftops, and elevated work areas
• Ability to safely lift, position, and install ductwork and equipment
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
• Dependable, professional, and able to work effectively as part of a crew

• Commercial and industrial HVAC installation experience
• Experience with both rectangular and round duct systems
• Experience with renovation, retrofit, and equipment replacement projects
• OSHA, lift, or other applicable industry certifications

• $25-$30/hour, based on experience

• Full-time
• Monday-Thursday (10 hour shifts)
• Additional hours/overtime may be available or required depending on project needs
