Education Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous warehouse training or powered industrial truck training is beneficial.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 6 months of prior sit-down forklift experience required
- Experience loading, unloading, and moving materials in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and interpret work instructions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
Job Duties
- Safely operate a sit-down forklift to transport materials throughout the facility
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers
- Move products to designated storage and staging locations
- Pull, verify, and prepare orders for shipment
- Complete daily forklift inspections and equipment checklists
- Follow OSHA regulations, company policies, and safety procedures
- Maintain an organized and clean work area
- Assist with inventory movement and material handling as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in warehouse, distribution, logistics, manufacturing, or shipping and receiving is preferred.
- Current forklift certification or experience operating multiple classes of powered industrial equipment is beneficial.
- Experience using RF scanners, warehouse management systems (WMS), or inventory software is considered an asset.
- Individuals who demonstrate safe operating practices, teamwork, reliability, and productivity are well positioned for success as a Sit Down Forklift Operator.
Physical Capabilities
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and climb on and off powered industrial equipment throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift, move, or reposition materials weighing up to 50 pounds when required.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts in busy warehouse and manufacturing environments.
- Ability to maintain awareness of surrounding personnel, equipment, and inventory while operating powered industrial vehicles.
