Brazer
The Brazer assembles and brazes flare tube extensions, return bends, headers, manifolds, and various copper hookup components into coils using an oxygen-acetylene torch. The role involves preparing components and coils for brazing, selecting and using appropriate brazing rods and flux, and creating your own setups while following coil prints and blueprints. You will use a variety of hand and power tools, perform simple arithmetic, and help ensure a steady flow of quality coil assemblies through the production process.
Responsibilities
- Assemble flare tube extensions, return bends, headers, manifolds, and copper hookup components into coils according to coil prints and blueprints.
- Prepare header and manifold components for brazing both on and off the production line.
- Braze components using an oxygen-acetylene braze torch with BCUP 5 brazing rod and Stay-Silv Brazing Flux.
- Braze sub-assemblies using various brazing rods to meet product specifications.
- Braze 180- and 360-degree joints with a braze torch while maintaining strong, clean joints.
- Braze brass fittings to copper components to complete coil and manifold assemblies.
- Braze return bends, headers, and subassemblies to coils using coil prints as guides.
- Make your own setups for brazing operations to support efficient production.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring tools such as tape measures to fit, align, and verify components.
- Read and interpret blueprints, coil prints, and work instructions to perform accurate assemblies.
- Perform simple arithmetic to verify measurements and material requirements.
- Monitor inventory levels of headers and manifold sub-assemblies and communicate needs to maintain production flow.

Work Environment
This position is based in a large, non-temperature-controlled plant environment. The role is physically active and requires standing and walking for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds on a non-repetitive basis, and stooping as needed to perform brazing and assembly tasks. You will regularly work with an oxygen-acetylene torch, brazing rods and flux, and a range of hand and power tools in a production setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grenada, MS.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
