Using an oxygen-acetylene torch and brazing rods, you prepare coils for brazing, create your own setups, and join components according to coil prints and blueprints. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to read blueprints, and the use of simple arithmetic to ensure accurate and high-quality assemblies.
Responsibilities
- Assemble flare tube extensions, return bends, headers, manifold components, and copper hookup parts into coils according to coil prints and blueprints.
- Prepare header and manifold components for brazing both on and off the production line.
- Braze headers, manifold components, and sub-assemblies using an oxygen-acetylene braze torch and brazing rods, including BCUP 5 and Stay-Silv Brazing Flux.
- Braze sub-assemblies with various types of rods to meet product specifications and quality standards.
- Braze return bends, headers, and sub-assemblies to coils following coil prints and established procedures.
- Perform brazing operations on 180- and 360-degree configurations using a braze torch.
