Customer Service
- Displays a customer-focused attitude by training and holding staff accountable for delivering extraordinary customer service.
- Demonstrates and coaches to proper sales and service techniques as directed by store leadership.
- Provides customers with accurate information about current advertising and promotions.
- Listens to customers and provides courteous and knowledgeable assistance.
- Ensures consistent execution of merchandise presentation, sales and promotional event set-up, and signing and pricing standards.
- Delivers a clean, neat, and easy-to-shop store environment.
- Solicits customer feedback to understand customer needs and the needs of the local community.
- Celebrates and recognizes successes. Coaches team to continually improve sales performance.
- Accountable for increasing sales and achieving overall store performance goals.
- Drives and exceeds sales goals by developing and executing strategies to achieve results.
- Facilitates training to improve sales and increase product knowledge across the store.
- Ensures merchandise is sold at company established prices and discrepancies are addressed and resolved promptly.
- Knowledgeable of merchandise on the sales floor, back stock levels, and locations of products.
- Review store departments with Department Managers for improvement opportunities and implement strategies to increase sales and overall customer experience.
- Plans, identifies, communicates, and delegates appropriate responsibilities and practices to store management and staff to ensure a smooth flow of operations.
- Provides coaching and direction to store employees to enable action and achieve operational goals.
- Motivates team members to sell products and services and to establish long-term sales relationships.
- Personally supports, coaches, and develops team members, creating an environment where each employee can be successful.
- Provides disciplined leadership including setting clear expectations and holding the team and self accountable for results.
- Facilitates dialogue between front-line employees, department staff, and store leadership team.
- Manages with integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promotes the culture, values, and mission of Home Hardware Center.
- Maintains or oversees employee scheduling to ensure optimal staffing levels.
- Consistently reviews store environment and progress to goals to identify problems, concerns, and opportunities for improvement and shares findings and goals with the store team.
- Utilizes management information tools and analyzed financial reports to identify and address trends and issues in store performance.
- Actively manages store employees by regularly conducting performance assessments and annual reviews, providing feedback, and setting challenging goals to improve performance.
- Ensures an exceptional customer experience by assessing interactions on the sales floor and over the phone
- Effectively communicates merchandise needs to employees and purchasing team to achieve optimum stock mix.
- Manages inventory accuracy, shrinkage, and maintains inventory controls.
- Provides leadership in delivery of all company initiatives and clearly communicates objectives and priorities to staff.
- Recruits qualified team members and trains team members for future advancement and promotions.
- Actively fills open positions analyzes opportunities for internal promotions.
- Monitors and ensures adherence to all corporate policies (e.g., dress code, return policy, safety, etc.) as directed by policy and procedure and store leadership.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
