Position: Project Manager- Gresham, OR

Project Manager - Heavy Civil Construction

Location: Gresham, OR

Salary: $135,000 - $225,000 depending on experience + Bonus + Full Benefits

A leading heavy civil general contractor with a strong presence across the Pacific Northwest is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee complex infrastructure projects in the greater Portland area. This role offers the opportunity to lead high-value work across water/wastewater treatment, large-diameter pipelines, and civil infrastructure projects.

This organization is known for tackling technically challenging projects, maintaining a strong backlog of work, and investing in long-term employee growth and development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all aspects of project execution from preconstruction through closeout
  • Manage budgets, schedules, and overall project financial performance
  • Oversee subcontractor procurement, negotiation, and management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, engineers, and stakeholders
  • Coordinate closely with Superintendents to ensure field operations stay on track
  • Identify and mitigate project risks while maintaining quality and safety standards
  • Review and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and contract documents
Experience Needed
  • 8-15+ years of experience in heavy civil construction
  • Proven track record managing projects such as:
    • Water and wastewater treatment plants
    • Pump stations or industrial process facilities
    • Large-diameter pipeline or underground utility projects
  • Experience managing projects with values ranging from $20M to $100M+
  • Strong background working with public agencies or municipal clients
  • Experience with self-perform scopes and complex project sequencing preferred
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • Demonstrated ability to lead project teams and manage multiple stakeholders
  • Strong financial acumen with experience budgeting, forecasting, and cost control
  • Proficient with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, or similar)
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • PE license or advanced certifications are a plus but not required
