Qualifications: State of Oregon Teaching License with Science endorsement and current First Aid Card.
CompensationCompensation: Salary and stipends are prorated based on FTE and start/end dates of the position.
- Annual Salary Range $13,065 - $25,877 (Based on 192/193 Day Contract). Initial placement on the salary schedule is based on education and contracted licensed experience.
- As a licensed employee, you are eligible to receive a specialty stipend of $494 if certified multilingual in Spanish, Arabic, Ukrainian, or Russian. Must pass a standardized proficiency test of language.

Title and Summary
Job Title: Teacher - High School
Job Summary: The job is to develop students' academic skills through district-approved curriculum; document teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; address students' educational needs; provide a safe and optimal learning environment; and provide feedback to students, parents and administration regarding progress, expectations, goals, etc.
Essential Job Functions- Help each pupil develop competence in subject matter skills; motivate each pupil to apply understanding and skills in the solution of problems; develop good relationships with parents and with other staff members
- Teach courses to secondary pupils utilizing the course of study adopted by the Board of Education and appropriate curriculum publications as guidelines
- Instruct pupils in citizenship, basic communication skills, and other general elements of the course of study as specified in state law and district procedures
- Develop lesson plans and appropriate instructional aids
- Demonstrate concepts using models, chalkboard, projector, and other standard instructional aids
- Provide opportunities for individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil
- Design learning activities that relate subject area to the physical world
- Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior to provide an orderly, productive classroom environment
- Evaluate each pupil's progress and prepare progress reports; may prepare letters of recommendation for scholarships or college applications
- Perform basic attendance accounting and business services as required
- Plan and coordinate the work of aides, teacher assistants, or other paraprofessionals
- Communicate with parents to interpret teaching methods and discuss pupil progress; identify pupil needs and cooperate with staff to help pupils solve health, attitude, and learning problems
- Supervise pupils in out-of-classroom activities during the day
- Maintain professional competence through inservice education or self-selected professional growth activities
- Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of management
- Prompt and regular attendance
- Assists other personnel as may be required to support them in their work activities
- Participates in meetings (e.g., parent conferences, in-service training, site meetings) to receive/provide information and meet credential requirements
- Select and requisition books, instructional aids, and materials and maintain inventory records
- Participate in curriculum and other developmental programs within the school and/or district; may teach under modular or flexible scheduling plans
- Share in the sponsorship of student activities and participate in faculty committees
