Job Summary
Provides quality instruction that will contribute to the learning experiences necessary for each student to meet the objectives of the course and to be successful in both their education and career development experiences.
Essential Duties
* Instructs students in the hospital setting at the bedside.
* Provides student contact before or after class or through telephone or email exchanges or office hours where facilities and schedules permit.
* Follows course syllabi as provided.
* Assists with the maintenance and revision of curriculum to maintain currency.
* Understands, develops, and provides a learning environment that supports diversity and incorporates sensitivity to diversity within the College community.
* Meets with each assigned student at least once each week for a minimum of two hours.
* Maintains evaluation and grading records for assigned students; enters grades and provides all necessary documentation for in completes within established College timelines.
* Ensures and emphasizes safe working and classroom conditions and practices.
Additional Duties
* May participate in professional development activities.
* May attend in-service sessions and division meetings.
Minimum Qualifications
* Associate's degree in respiratory therapy
* Registered Respiratory Therapist
* Two (2) years of experience in critical care
Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor degree or higher in related field
* Knowledge of pediatric advanced life support (PALS)
* Knowledge of advanced cardiac life support
* Certification as a neonatal resuscitation practitioner (NRP)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Knowledge of and ability to perform basic life support
Working Conditions
Work is performed in the hospital at the bedside.
Salary Placement
Initial salary placement for Instructional Load Credit (ILC) Instructors will be based on applicable education and/or years of relevant full-time equivalent experience at the sole discretion of the College, per the guidelines in the Collective Bargaining Agreement and in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws. Initial salary placement for all other newly hired instructors will be at Level 1.

Hired employees will not have an opportunity to update past education and/or experience or appeal initial placement after the time of hire.
