Job Summary and Responsibilities/Duties
Job Summary Assists students in automotive lab courses to understand and complete lab activities, and reinforce, review and clarify course-specific learning objectives. Essential Duties

Minimum Qualifications
- Associate's degree in automotive or related field OR two years of automotive industry experience that would provide the required knowledge and experience.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's degree in automotive or related field.
- Graduation from MHCC in automotive.
- Automotive industry experience.
- ASE certifications.

Knowledge of:
- Content-specific coursework.
- Effective communication, learning and tutoring strategies.
Ability to:
- Tutor students, individually and/or in small groups.
- Reinforce course curriculum and learning objectives.
- Follow program and college policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively, both orally, writing, and hands on demonstrations.
- Operate a variety of shop equipment, tools and technologies.
Working Conditions Work is typically performed primarily in the automotive classrooms and labs with hazards and demands typical to an automotive shop.
Salary Placement Part-time Tutors are paid based on accumulated work hours according to the salary schedule below; initial salary placement for all tutors will start at level 1, per the guidelines in the Collective Bargaining Agreement and in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.
