d Meadows, being a Junior Snowboard Instructor is about sharing your love of the mountain and helping young guests discover the fun of skiing and snowboarding. You'll be part of the Meadows Learning Center team, helping create a safe, welcoming, and positive experience for children while developing your own skills as a skier or rider and future instructor.
Junior Instructors work alongside experienced instructors to support youth lessons both indoors and on the mountain. From helping with lessons and lesson check-in to assisting with equipment, lunch, and end-of-day activities, you'll play an important role in making each child's day at the mountain fun, organized, and memorable.
If you're 14–17, love being on the mountain, enjoy working with kids, and want to build your skills while gaining valuable work experience, this is a great opportunity to become part of the Meadows Learning Center team and start your journey in snow sports instruction.

Junior Instructor positions are highly competitive, with a limited number of openings available each season.
This is a part-time, seasonal position
Qualifications & Experience
- 14 to 17 years of age
- Successful completion of prerequisite on-line PSIA-AASI E-Learning Courses
- Minimum ability to ski and/or snowboard safely, linking round turns on intermediate (blue) groomed terrain d Meadows
- Passion for teaching and the mountain environment
- Strong communication and guest services skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work outdoors in all conditions while maintaining a positive attitude
- Must have sufficient sight, speech and hearing abilities to learn skills, follow and provide directions and instruction to guests
- Basic web-based Internet browser navigation skills
- Ability to read and reply to email communications in a professional and timely manner
- Must provide own equipment (e.g. skis, snowboard, ski/snowboard boots, ski poles, gloves, goggles, thermal layers, etc.)
- Able to meet minimum schedule commitment with availability including weekends and school holidays from approximately December 1 through April 30
- Those 18 years of age or older must submit to a background check to work with minors
- Upon successful completion of Mt. Hood Meadows Learning Center training and observed demonstration of ability during a lesson, current Junior Instructors who are at least 16 years of age may be eligible for Instructor – Non-Certified position
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- Prior experience in a fast paced, guest-facing position
- Prior experience working with children in an educational or athletic setting
Compensation
- Starting Wage: $17.25 hourly
