Senior CAD Technician – Construction Surveying
Senior CAD Technician in Construction Surveying responsible for drafting detailed topographic and construction survey plans, working under the direction of the Survey Manager. The role involves translating field data into precise CAD drawings, creating boundary surveys, topographic maps, and construction layouts that align with project specifications and standards. The technician will ensure all plans are accurate and meet project requirements, supporting field teams in making informed, data‑driven decisions throughout the construction process.
Collaboration with surveyors and project managers is essential to maintain alignment on project goals and timelines. This is a full‑time on‑site position requiring work at the Gresham, Oregon project site five days a week.
- Drafting and preparing topographic and construction survey plans.
- Collaborating with the Survey Manager to ensure accurate plan preparation.
- Calculating layout information and preparing files for field crews.
- Performing survey data processing, 3D modelling and volume calculations.
- Communicating effectively with team members and clients as needed.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience with Autodesk Civil 3D, Navisworks, Revit & Micro Station.
- Proficiency in preparing topographic and construction survey plans.
- Strong knowledge of survey data processing, 3D modelling, preparing section/profile views, and volume calculations.
- Ability to perform accurate calculations using GPS and data processing tools.
- Experience in preparing data for survey field crews.
- Excellent attention to detail and drive for excellence.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work without supervision as well as within a busy, close‑knit team environment.
- Experience working on construction sites and performing field measurements.
- Knowledge of Trimble total stations and Trimble Business Center (TBC) software.
- Diploma or degree in a survey, geomatics, or engineering program.
