Job Summary
The Radiologic Technologist (RT) works with Medical Providers and/or Medical Assistants with the examination and treatment of Legacy-GoHealth Urgent Care patients. This role is responsible for providing a variety of technical procedures and applying prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis. This role is responsible for performing and analyzing patient x-rays and reporting results to Medical Providers. Additional responsibilities include providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of Legacy-GoHealth Urgent Care Centers.
In a collaborative manner, the Radiologic Technologist will provide support to Medical Providers, Medical Assistants and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization and communication.
- Perform x‑ray services for patients by applying x‑ray energy to assist in diagnosis or treatment of patients in all age groups.
- Ensure patients are positioned correctly on or in front of equipment and protected during use.
- Inform technical staff of patient flow, prepare patients for examination, conduct interviews, verify patient information, record medical history, confirm purpose of visit.
- Perform preliminary physical tests (blood pressure, weight, temperature, etc.) and escalates critical cases to provider as needed.
- Conduct point‑of‑care testing as needed (flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, HCG) and provide patient information to provider.
- Maintain medical records, scan charts into patient files and conduct courtesy call‑backs for patient follow‑up on care.
- Follow operating instructions to perform and document daily controls and calibration of equipment; maintain Quality Assurance/Quality Control logs for equipment, troubleshoot breakdowns, perform preventive maintenance, and submit repair tickets as needed.
- Collaborate with ordering/treating provider to determine which procedures or views will best assist in accurate diagnosis and treatment.
- Support clinic operations to keep the center running smoothly.
- Explain procedures to patients, ensuring their comfort and safety, and answer their questions.
- Accurately position patients and equipment for optimal imaging results.
- Select proper ionizing factors by adjusting/setting radiographic controls to capture clear, high‑quality diagnostic images.
- Perform routine maintenance, cleaning of X‑ray equipment, and manage supplies.
- Adhere to strict radiation safety protocols and implement ALARA to minimize exposure to patients and staff.
- Maintain accurate patient records and log completed procedures in electronic systems and/or logbooks as required.
- Verify image quality and ensure images are sent to radiologists for interpretation.
- High School Diploma required.
- Graduate of an approved Radiologic Technologist program required.
- Experience in a clinical setting preferred.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required at the time of hire, obtained through the American Red Cross (ARC) or American Heart Association (AHA).
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration required at time of hire.
- State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist is required at the time of hire (if applicable by state law).
- Hourly Pay: $32.00 – $40.00 (based on experience)
