Job SummaryAids physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of heart, lung, and blood vessel disorders by conducting invasive and non-invasive diagnostic tests of cardiovascular and pulmonary systems. Operates X-ray and physiological equipment, assists with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and maintains equipment and records test results.
Education and Work Experience- Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience (Preferred)
- One year's catheterization experience (Preferred)
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Radiography (ARRT-R) (Required)
- Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) Radiologic Technologist License (Required in OR)
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy (Required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy (Required)
- AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS (Required)
- Assists physicians with procedures, operates all special procedure equipment, and selects and modifies technical factors as needed.
- Monitors, records, and evaluates patient vital signs throughout procedures; ensures patient radiation protection and sterile techniques are followed.
- Operates, records, and maintains physiologic equipment and cardiac cath equipment, reports malfunctions, and performs preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
- Assists the Cardiologist, Radiologist, or physician during special procedures and in the administration of opaque media via catheter or direct injection.
- Completes appropriate procedural documentation, records charges, performs general office duties, keeps the area stocked, cleans and disinfects equipment, and cleans the special procedures room daily.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
