Job Description

Our home health and hospice agencies are located throughout California, Hawaii, Oregon, and Washington. They serve the entire community and offer personalized in‑home care, and many have been recipients of Home Care Elite awards.

Job Summary

Provides physical therapy treatments under the supervision of licensed physical therapists, including modalities, manual techniques, and exercise techniques. Instructs and guides patients through functional activities such as bed mobility, transfers, gait, and balance. Works under minimal supervision and may mentor and train staff on technical skills.

Job Requirements Education and Work Experience
  • High School Education/GED or equivalent:
    Required
  • Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience:
    Preferred
  • Two years’ technical experience:
    Preferred
  • Experience in therapy in an acute care environment, acute therapy unit and/or out‑patient setting:
    Preferred
Licenses/Certifications
  • Physical Therapy Assistant licensure in all applicable states of practice:
    Required
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor:
    Required
  • Valid Driver’s License (DL) and age at least 21 years:
    Required
Essential Functions
  • Performs physical therapy treatments, including modalities, manual techniques, and exercise techniques. Instructs and guides patients through functional activities such as bed mobility, transfers, gait, and balance.
  • Observes and follows treatment precautions as identified by physical therapists, nurses, or physicians; reports changes to relevant staff.
  • Provides daily, timely documentation of interventions and services in the acute care setting.
  • Provides education and training to patients and caregivers, incorporating learning style preferences and assessing responses.
  • Performs other job‑related duties as assigned.
