Job SummaryMaintains performance responsibility as an experienced/skilled practice technical clinician. Performs independently, with physician oversight, in the technical management of implanted cardiac pacemaker and Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD) devices. Manages device patients and care implementing treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and other device team members. Acts as a competent clinician who provides clinical care in a skilled and effective manner, utilizing appropriate technical and decision‑making skills.

- Assesses patients clinically for device/rhythm issues. Performs basic interrogation and adjustments to programming as per protocol, or specific order. Troubleshoots basic, intermediate and advanced device issues. Performs device clinic triage including patient instruction and education regarding device, and remote monitoring. Works on problems of diverse scope and complexity. Assists with regulatory compliance.
- Assesses device (pacemaker or ICD) fuller (either in person or remotely) with full interrogation and identification of sub‑optimal programming, abnormal findings and/or arrhythmias. Assists clinical staff and department or unit management in determining methods and procedures for new tasks. Exercises independent judgment on moderately complex cases. Collaborates with team to ensure patient issues are addressed.
- Interprets patient's condition and abnormal technical/clinical findings and communicates in a timely manner to physician and/or appropriate healthcare team. Assists in making recommendations on process improvement or development of new clinical services. Elevates questions, problems and significant challenges to more senior staff for direction or subject matter expertise.
- Works under minimal supervision, uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors. Assures accuracy in billing and scheduling for all device services. Mentors and trains staff on technical skills.
