The Role

As a Maintenance Technician, you will create an environment where people want to live. You will maintain property to ensure good working order and pleasant curb appeal while providing excellent customer service to residents. The incumbent must possess a high degree of professionalism and positive engagement for residents and the workforce.

Key Competencies
  • Strong aptitude for connecting with residents, vendors, and partners.
  • Authentic, open and professional attitude when resolving concerns.
  • Positive, active‑listening approach that ensures residents and staff feel heard and valued.
Qualifications
  • 2 years of multifamily maintenance experience highly desired.
  • Hands‑on maintenance skills: plumbing, electrical, general carpentry, HVAC, appliances, pools, etc.
  • EPA Type II or Universal certification highly desired; CPO is a plus.
  • Availability to be on‑call for emergencies.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • A positive attitude and desire to learn and develop skills.
  • Superior customer service and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Basic computer knowledge (Windows Word, Excel, e‑mail).
Key Accountabilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service and high‑quality maintenance.
  • Complete work orders and preventive maintenance; diagnose and repair defects.
  • Make‑ready vacant units for leasing: inspections, punch lists, vendor coordination, material procurement.
  • Assist in maintaining grounds, common areas, and amenities (trash removal, pressure washing, painting).
  • Support cost‑cutting programs by fixing rather than replacing parts when possible.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify safety concerns.
  • Track inventory, return unused items, and notify supervisor of re‑ordering needs.
  • Follow safety procedures, report issues, and comply with OSHA and other regulations.
  • Adhere to company policies, Fair Housing, ADA, and related laws.
  • Perform physical duties (standing, walking, bending, squatting, lifting); travel to sister communities may be required.
