SummaryForklift Driver duties may include loading and unloading trailers, assisting in production line set‑up, and supplying materials during production. Tasks may require outdoor work and preparation to operate in any weather conditions.

Essential Functions- Load and unload trailers.
- Assist in production line set‑up and supply materials during production.
- Perform routine pre‑shift inspections of forklift.
- Sort, pack, wrap, tie, and label products as instructed by a superior.
- Transport unloaded goods to freezer or cooler.
- Operate forklift in dock area or inside a production line with limited space.
- Assist with clean‑up tasks at the end of production shift.
- Follow all company safety and PPE policies.
- Position may be rotated through any of the GP3 responsibilities depending on company need and production leadership direction.
- Have open availability to work a flexible schedule, including entire shifts, extended hours, weekends, holidays, and required overtime in compliance with Oregon State laws.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
This position has no supervisory responsibility but may provide leadership and guidance to volunteers and/or temporary staff and assist with orientation of new members of Scenic Fruit Company.
Necessary Knowledge,Skills and Abilities
- Minimum 18 years of age and at least 1 year of recent verifiable forklift experience.
- Experience in a fast‑paced environment, preferably in a production or manufacturing setting.
- Pass forklift written and hands‑on evaluation administered onsite by a company‑appointed trainer.
- Employment offers contingent upon successful pre‑employment drug screen.
- Reliable transportation to and from work.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Good eye‑hand‑foot coordination.
- Ability to operate a forklift safely in a fast‑paced environment.
- Functional/Technical expertise.
- Initiative.
- Team player.
The physical demands described are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Employees must frequently talk, hear, sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, climb, balance, crouch, crawl, push, pull, lift, and carry up to 40 pounds. They must maintain body balance while ascending or descending the forklift and maintain equilibrium while bending at the waist or knees.
The shift includes constant forklift use. Employees reach with hands and arms, perform repetitive motions of arms, wrists, hands, feet, and fingers, and require close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Work environment may involve wet or hot conditions, temperature extremes, and excessive noise. Employees must adhere to general safety and food safety protocols, including wearing protective clothing and washing hands consistently. The position consistently works with moving parts and may expose the operator to odors and fumes.
