Under the general supervision of the Director of Program Collaborations, PEWTW Program Coordinator III will facilitate participant connection to our low interest auto and e-bike loan program, Portland Electric Ways to Work. Primary functions include coordination, facilitation and implementation of the MFS Financial Coaching program and PEWTW Program, training and coordination of program volunteers, as well as forming and maintaining effective working relationships in the community, and with other MFS programs.
The Program Coordinator is responsible for providing participant services under the financial coaching program and providing group based and 1:1 economic empowerment education. Additionally, the Program Coordinator will provide information to participants about electric and hybrid vehicles and e-bikes and support MFS’s EV/Hybrid/E-Bikes and climate change education and outreach efforts.

- Provide participants with financial mentoring and education to reach financial goals for long term financial health including: financial goal setting, budgeting and spending plan development, in depth credit education, and credit building strategies
- Become certified in Credit as an Asset through Credit Builders Alliance
- Provide ongoing outreach and recruitment to individuals who would benefit from the PEWTW Program
- Communicate regularly with our lending partner Point West Credit Union, addressing all bank related participant account issues
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the PEWTW Program, handling program inquiry calls and performing program intake screenings; provide customer service support and assistance to enrolled participants
- Check-in with participants regularly to ensure program success
- Develop and sustain relationships with area car dealerships, mechanic shops and bike shops to ensure a wide range of options are available to our participants as they move toward making purchasing decisions
- Recruit and coordinate the volunteer loan committee members in order to maintain a diverse mix of members
- Plan and facilitate group economic empowerment classes
- Deliver culturally relevant financial coaching to clients
- Help clients connect to safe financial products and services and community resources that will support financial stability
- Deepen commitment to advocating for electric and hybrid vehicles and e-bike ownership in middle to low income households and continue partnerships with other organizations working on this issue
- Support the systems change work to improve the screening and intake process for PEWTW participants
- Share information on benefits to electric and hybrid vehicles and e-bikes and rebates to possible PEWTW participants
- Share updates with MFS leadership on the PEWTW program
- Outreach to community partners about benefits of EVs, Hybrids and E-Bikes and loans available through PEWTW
