Under the general supervision of the Director of Major Gifts, the Grants Manager is a critical, donor-facing member of MFS's high-performing development team. This role is responsible for managing the full grant lifecycle - prospect research and cultivation, proposal development and submission, award management when applicable, and reporting. The role also requires proactive participation in donor relations, current and prospective funder meetings, and broader development activities.
The Grants Manager combines strong grant writing, stewardship, and reporting skills with relationship-building and solicitation responsibilities to bring in revenue, deepen funder engagement, and support organizational fundraising goals.

Full Grant Cycle Management
- Lead identification, research, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of foundation, corporate, and government grant opportunities aligned with MFS priorities
- Develop and implement grant strategies and prospects that contribute to measurable revenue goals
- Draft, submit, and manage competitive grant proposals and budgets with high quality and on deadline
- Oversee post-award grant management, as needed - including tracking funder deliverables, budgets, compliance and reporting requirements, and timelines
- Support the preparation and submission of timely, accurate grant reports ensuring documentation of outcomes, metrics, and expenditures that meet funder expectations
- Maintain systems for tracking grant progress, deliverables, and reporting schedules; proactively escalate and resolve issues that could affect compliance or funding
- Serve as a public-facing representative of MFS to funders and partners; cultivate and steward relationships through meetings, site visits, and regular communications
- Prepare donor and funder-facing materials, proposal briefings, and meeting content; participate in donor and partner meetings alongside senior development staff
- Coordinate stewardship plans for grant funders, ensuring funder expectations are met and relationships are deepened to encourage renewal and increased support
