Job Description & How to Apply Below

A prospective resident walks in on a Saturday afternoon, a little uncertain, a lot hopeful. The way you greet them in that first thirty seconds sets the tone for everything that follows, including whether they sign a lease or keep driving. MG Properties has been acquiring, developing, and managing apartment communities across the Western U.S. for more than three decades. Their Gresham, OR property is looking for a Leasing Consultant who can balance genuine warmth with the kind of organized, detail-oriented follow-through that keeps occupancy healthy and residents well-served.

What

the Work Actually Looks Like

This role sits at the intersection of sales, customer service, and administration. You ll meet and qualify prospective residents, prepare and walk through leases, and coordinate with the maintenance team to make sure new move-ins go smoothly. That last piece matters more than people expect. A rocky move-in day can undo a lot of goodwill built during the leasing process, so staying in sync with the maintenance staff is part of doing the job well.

On the administrative side, you ll keep rental files current and accurate, enter data into the property management system, and support the monthly close-out tasks that keep the property s paperwork clean. You ll also interact with current residents around maintenance concerns, complaints, and rent collection, which means your people skills get tested in both directions: welcoming newcomers and resolving friction with folks who already live there.

Who

Fits This Role Well
  • At least one year of property management experience (preferred, not required)
  • Genuine sales instincts paired with patience for the service side of the job
  • Comfort with data entry and file management; details can t slip
  • Professional communication in writing and in person
  • Team orientation. This property runs as a team, and lone-wolf habits don t translate well here

Compensation runs $20 to $22 per hour depending on experience, with monthly bonuses and company profit sharing on top of base pay. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) with employer match, paid holidays, sick time, and rental discounts. MG Properties also has a track record of promoting from within, which is worth noting if you re early in a property management career and thinking about where a leasing role can take you.

One honest note about this kind of position: leasing consultants carry a lot of the emotional weight of a community. Prospects who don t qualify, residents who are frustrated, days when traffic is slow and the pressure to hit occupancy goals is real. The people who thrive here tend to be grounded, not easily rattled, and genuinely interested in the human side of housing.

If that sounds like you, this is a solid place to build.
