We’re hiring three dedicated and confident Night Supervisors to join our growing team at Gretna Green Hotels. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead overnight hotel operations, enjoy quieter working hours, take on a rewarding leadership role, and have plenty of free time during the day.
As a Night Supervisor, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the hotel runs smoothly throughout the night. From leading and supporting the night team, to creating a safe and calm environment for both guests and staff, you’ll play a vital role in overnight operations. You’ll be the first point of contact for late check-ins and guest needs, overseeing nightly audits and security checks while providing clear handovers to the day team.
With your calm, professional approach to any incidents or emergencies, combined with strong leadership and attention to detail, you’ll keep operations running smoothly and set the stage for a successful day ahead.
- Lead and supervise night operations across the hotel
- Maintain a safe, calm environment for guests and staff
- Welcome, check in, and assist late-night arrivals
- Complete nightly audits and deliver clear handovers
- Handle incidents, complaints, or emergencies with professionalism
- Oversee cleaning duties, public area checks, and deep-cleaning tasks
- Conduct regular security and cleanliness patrols
- Address basic maintenance or operational issues
- Communicate effectively with day teams for smooth transitions
- Provide bar service, prepare and deliver room service orders
- Set up function rooms for weddings and events
- A confident, natural leader with hospitality or front desk experience
- Excellent communicator with a guest-first mindset
- Cool-headed problem solver who thrives under pressure
- Hands‑on and willing to help with practical tasks
- Knowledge of fire safety, health and safety, and licensing laws

Previous experience in hospitality, security, or a hands‑on supervisory role is a plus. However, more important you character, curiosity and willingness to grow.
Guest Services- Welcome and engage with guests upon their arrival, ensuring personalized preferences are met, and appropriately accompany them to their accommodation as needed.
- Accurately and in a timely way, communicate nightly events, group and individual arrivals, and specific requests from returning guests to the Night team.
- Implement and uphold all fire safety procedures and remain current with updates on new procedures and training.
- Immediately report or deal with suspicious persons, activities, or hazardous conditions in an appropriate and timely way and pass all details following to the Hotel Reception Manager during handover, contributing to a secure and compliant environment.
- Facilitate a seamless transition in hotel operations by effectively taking over from the previous shift, aligning with objectives for operational efficiency.
- Effectively supervise all areas of the building during shift.
- Efficiently manage various operational facets, including room service, kitchen activities, public area cleaning, outdoor maintenance, and deep cleaning tasks, with a commitment to meeting established target.

Position: Full‑Time
Hours: 40 hours per week nights, including weekends and bank holidays
Pay: £13.65 per hour
