Registered Nurse – PACU

New Orleans, LA

Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (11:00–23:30) | Onsite

• Provide pre-operative, Phase I, and Phase II recovery care to adult and pediatric surgical patients across a high-volume, multi-floor perioperative department supporting up to 34 operating rooms.
• Care for patients undergoing a broad range of surgical and procedural services including endoscopy, interventional radiology, pulmonary lab, cystoscopy, and CT/MRI procedures.
• Administer and monitor care for patients receiving regional anesthesia and ECT procedures.
• Utilize specialized equipment including Hoyer lift, bladder scanner, and Accu Vein as needed.
• Float to pediatric PACU as needed to support high-volume pediatric patient populations.
• Maintain a 1:2 patient ratio and fulfill 2–3 scheduled weekend shifts per contract period.

• Active RN license – Compact or Louisiana license required and must be in hand at time of submittal.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in PACU or perioperative specialty.
• Current ACLS, BCLS, and PALS certifications (AHA-issued certifications required).
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health records system.
• Must reside more than 65 miles from the facility address (as indicated on driver's license) – local travelers are not accepted.
• Current NURSYS report required, dated within 4 weeks of submission.

• Background specifically in PACU or Pre/Post Op nursing;
  Critical Care Post-Op experience strongly preferred.
• Comfort and experience caring for pediatric patient populations in a perioperative setting.

• Work in a large, dynamic perioperative environment supporting a diverse surgical population across multiple service lines and specialties.
• Orientation is held five days a week and includes billable module completion time, supporting a smooth onboarding experience.
