ER Nurse Leader, –Shift

The RN will lead patient care using the nursing process, delegate and direct licensed and ancillary staff, and maintain accountability for quality outcomes. The RN must show sensitivity to cultural, ethnic and religious diversity and support the organization’s mission.

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (required)
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing (preferred)

• None (required)

• Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice (required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification within 30 days of hire (required)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification within 90 days of hire (required)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 90 days of hire (required)
• Certification in clinical specialty area (preferred)

• Proficiency in using computers, software, and web‑based applications
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels
• Good organizational and time‑management skills and the ability to be self‑directed
• Ability to demonstrate good judgment
• Good interpersonal skills

• Effectively use the nursing process in patient care delivery
• Assess learning needs and implement appropriate teaching strategies for patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources, serving as a leader and partner on the interdisciplinary team
• Utilize data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change to achieve optimal outcomes
• Embrace concepts and behaviors that enhance customer satisfaction and employee morale, improving nursing profession standards
• Adapt behavior to specific patient populations, respecting privacy and customizing explanations and communication style
• Perform other related duties as required

Responsibilities may require lifting objects up to 100 pounds, exposure to blood, body fluids and tissues, and potential exposure to hazardous medications and waste. Occupational risk for communicable diseases is inherent in a healthcare setting.
